English Exam Preparation
This stand-alone session provides a general overview of the English Exam and explores the different strategies students can take in their study time leading up to the exam. It considers all three sections of the exam, consolidating the key learning skills and knowledge as well as the exam criteria and descriptors. It offers numerous study techniques and advice on how to maximise a student’s opportunities in the exam and finishes by highlighting strategies to use when things do not go to plan in the exam.
This session is generally conducted as a lecture rather than an interactive writers workshop option such as the VCE English Writers Workshop and can be useful at the end of term three before students commence their holiday study.
The Exam Prep Teachers Guide is an effective resource to sit alongside this workshop and ensure the skills of the session can be referred to within the English Learning Area outside of the Year 12 team.
