Approaches to Teaching Writing

So often I work with teachers who are excellent at teaching the content of their subject but forget that they also need to teach their students how to write about this content. Teachers outside of English, often need extra support to teach and provide valuable feedback on writing specifically.

This workshop can be tailored to where your school currently is within their writing process journey. It can move from current practices into building metalanguage or work towards a common writing process template, or common approaches to text type structures and features.

This workshop works most effectively when undertaken with specific Learning Areas. This allows metalanguage, examples, and resources to be as individual and relevant as possible and yields the greatest uptake from staff. You are also able to request a facilitated session, where the work can occur with the leading teacher, who then implements it throughout the relevant areas of the school.
